About

Graduated in Civil Engineer and Master in Economics, José Geraldo  has extensive experience in business valuation and corporate strategies.

Exactly twenty-four years ago, he decided to “pivot” his profession, leaving engineering for the fascinating world of corporate finance.

He fell in love at first with business valuation methods. By becoming an excellent “player” in the field of valuation, experienced the first opportunities in the corporate field. Going through boards of directors and fiscal boards of publicly (listed) and privately held companies, assimilated the intrinsic subtleties to the power of control.

His great corporate school was his intense participation in the “greatest corporate dispute in the history of Brazilian capitalism” (Bilhões e Lágrimas book): Opportunity versus Pension Funds and Citibank. The root of the disagreements lay in the corporate structure drawn up by Daniel Dantas, which guaranteed him control of the companies, although his stake was much smaller than that of the other partners.

In the last ten years, José Geraldo has focused on the world of StartUps, helping entrepreneurs in negotiations with investors, in the elaboration of shareholders agreements and vesting programs. In some of them, he became a partner.
